I love this device; I was having some issues because this new Lenovo does not have the same docking style as previous versions. The last Lenovo docking station incorporated cooling fans. So figure the same price less service.
This device has 38K +4.5 star reviews, so I chose it, and I am happy with it. It is customizable. Totally recommended.

Lights optional, fan speed dials, friction pads on the bottom to prevent movement, and they have the foldable legs in front to prevent your laptop from sliding!!!!!

It works and it's not a bad price relative to other well rated options. It keeps my laptop about 7C cooler. Average temp for my GPU gaming is 72C and with this thing it flickers between 64-65C. That's a pretty big difference. If I game without this, the back of the computer where the vents are gets uncomfortably hot to the touch. I gamed for a couple hours straight with this running and it wasn't cold but it wasn't uncomfortably hot either.

The top and bottom sets of fans can be turned on and off separate from one another which could be nice. For instance my laptop only has vents at the rear so I could largely shut off the fans in the front if I wanted to have less noise or something. But I only really need/run this thing when gaming, so I have a headset on anyways and the difference in noise from half the fans vs all the fans is nothing.

Overall, the noise level isn't that bad. It's not silent by any means. But I think most people buying this are gaming and it's definitely quieter than gaming laptop fans. It's quieter than my Lenovo Slim 7's fans while I'm gaming on it.

But I have a 15" laptop and this thing runs edge to edge under my laptop (as shown in pictures). I guess you could still say it's for 16" and 17" laptops because it'll be hitting most of the underside, but to me this is what most people are going to think of as made for/ideal for a 15" laptop.

I would not buy this for casual lap/bed use. 1) Without the legs up in the back it doesn't have the ability to properly draw in cool air and 2) when angled to allow the air flow it needs, the pegs that keep your laptop from sliding off the platform stick up right into your wrist. You can run them partially up... they seem to stay up ok, but I would rather they just be shorter so that at full extension they still fall below the keyboard height.

This laptop cooler cooled my machine about 10 degrees more than usual. I have an alienware m15 r6 laptop and it gets a little spicy on the cpu at times under load. this laptop cooling pad cooled it off about 10 degrees. very quiet, much more quiet than my fans at full speed. i also like that on the laptop cooler there is an extra usb port. not bad at all for the price.

It super cheap. It's well engineered. It will break if a bird lands on it. Does an amazing job. Just be carefull with it. I'd use a wireless keyboard (I do) and avoid putting weight on it. But dropped my gaming laptop 13° celcius.
